Guilty Gear -Strive- Queen Dizzy Overview
Dizzy’s transformation into Queen Dizzy is more than just a title upgrade. Known for her complex lore and unique dual-wings—Necro and Undine—Dizzy has been a fan favorite since her introduction in Guilty Gear X. Now, her return to Strive marks the first time players will see her since the game’s 2021 launch.
Gameplay-wise, based on her new look, it seems that Queen Dizzy will retain the versatility that made her such a fascinating character to begin with. Her Necro and Undine wings will still provide an elemental duality in her attack style, both in long-range and close-quarters combat. However, with her new royal status, fans speculate that Dizzy may also wield new abilities and mechanics that reflect her regal position in the story. Fans will simply have to wait for more gameplay reveals to see just how much her moveset has evolved with her ascension to the throne.
Initially revealed on July 22, Queen Dizzy is the first of four characters to join Strive in Season Pass 4. Following her will be Venom, the anime adaptation character Unika, and, in a history-making move for the Guilty Gear series, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners heroine Lucy as a guest character. Each of them will arrive at different points in 2025.
What’s more, players who purchase the Season Pass 4 will receive not just the characters, but also two additional stages and exclusive color palettes for every character. For more information on what’s in store for players in Season Pass 4, check out our article below!
Guilty Gear -Strive- Balance Tweaks and New Modes
Dizzy isn’t arriving alone. October 31 will also see the release of a major balance update for Strive, shaking things up for the entire roster. According to the announcement at TGS 2024, several characters will receive new moves. For example, Chipp Zanuff will gain new "Tightrope" and "Tightrope run" mechanics that will allow him to attack enemies from high up and in an upside-down position.
Moreover, Strive will also be hosting a second open beta for their new online battle mode—Team of 3. Here, players will be able to assemble teams of three characters and fight against others, similar to Marvel vs. Capcom’s three-on-three battles. The beta is set to take place from November 8 to 11.
