Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Post-Launch Plans
Developing a Wide Range of Future Improvements
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer Sandfall Interactive is currently working on several improvements for the game. In a Twitter (X) post on June 16, the team promises to deliver more exciting content and accessibility features to make the game better.
They stated, "We're currently exploring a wide range of future improvements — from accessibility features to new content and all sorts of bits and bobs we're actively assessing." Additionally, they are also working to expand the game’s localization options beyond its current French and English voices, as well as subtitles in multiple languages.

Fans have long clamored for more content for the critically acclaimed RPG. Last month, Expedition 33 Lead Writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen gave a positive response regarding the game’s chance of having DLC. Although nothing has been set in stone, Svedberg-Yen said that the likelihood of an expansion depends on the "strong desire from the players," which evidently, there is.
It is worth noting that Sandfall also has plans to work on a new game. Sandfall Interactive COO and Producer François Meurisse stated that there will be another game for sure, but it’s too early to reveal anything yet.
Despite not giving an exact release window or specifics about their update, Sandfall wanted to assure fans that everything is on their radar. Fans showered them with positive comments, and most of them suggested adding Arabic as one of the localization options.
Hideo Kojima Thinks Expedition 33 Team Size is Ideal

In other news, Death Stranding and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima praised Expedition 33 for its success, and thought that the development team’s size was ideal. During a Q&A group interview attended by Dexerto, Kojima shared his experiences regarding team sizes, which have evolved through the years.
He said, "When I first started, it was like a team of six. You could do everything yourself. Now, it’s expanded. You can’t really control each employee, so you delegate. But sometimes, the idea doesn’t really work out because it’s a bigger team."
Comparatively, Kojima noted that Expedition 33’s team size is ideal, and he wanted to have the same experience. "They only have like 33 team members and a dog. That’s my ideal when I create something with a team," he explained.
CD Projekt Red Wants Expedition 33 to be in GOTY Talks
Developers across the industry continue to heap praise on the Belle Époque turn-based RPG, as CD Projekt Red Global Community Director Marcin Momot thinks that it should be in Game of the Year (GOTY) talks. Momot expressed his appreciation on Twitter (X) on June 17 and said that there should be more games like Expedition 33.
The post reads, "That's it for Clair Obscur. I'm not going to be original here when I say we NEED more games like this. Such a great story from start to finish, super likeable characters, fun & engaging gameplay & don't even get me started on the music. Brilliant! It has to be in the GOTY talks!"

He also highlighted the game’s multiple endings in the comment section and stated that "the story and the endings hit hard." Momot agreed to a comment and said that it will be tough for other games to beat Expedition 33 for GOTY.
Expedition 33 is indeed a huge favorite for GOTY, according to fans, but this year’s lineup of games will make it hard for Sandfall Interactive’s debut project to win the title.
