Dragon’s Dogma 2 Devs Announce New Update in Light of Controversy

Performance and New Game Profile Issues Addressed

The DD2 community might be catching a break soon. As was announced on the game’s official Twitter (X) page, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be receiving a free major update addressing the game’s performance issues and monetization issues across various platforms. This update follows Capcom’s previous acknowledgment of the game’s framerate issues, which they said they "we are looking into ways to improve performance in the future."

The update’s release date and time are yet to be revealed, although the announcement promises that it will be available "in the near future" and that the DD2 team will "release them as soon as they are ready for distribution on each platform."

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mods Remove Need for Microtransactions

Image

In related news, Dragon’s Dogma 2’s modding scene might be able to give PC players a way to bypass the game’s various microtransactions. Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been in the hot seat since its release due to its reportedly questionable monetization scheme, which includes a plethora of microtransactions that add up to $41, which is nearly 2/3 of the game’s $70 price tag.

While most of the bits, baubles, and features offered by said microtransactions are also available in-game, a handful of them are obscenely rare, painting the microtransactions as a means of convenience. Well, PC modders were able to bypass these microtransactions entirely and allow players the freedom they’ve always wanted.

One of DD2’s more controversial paid DLCs is the "Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor" which is a $2 consumable that lets the Arisen player character change their appearance sans their race and body type. Well, look no further than the "Early n' Cheap Art of Metamorphosis" mod by SilverEzredes on Nexus Mods, which adds the Art of Metamorphosis tome to the first merchant in Melve and to Philbert's in Vernworth.

You can also try out the "Crazy’s Shop" mod by Crazy Potato, also on Nexus Mods, which acts as an in-game one-stop shop for items you could alternatively buy as paid DLC options, including Elite and Explorer Camp Kits, Wakestones, Rift Crystals, Farrystones, Beetles and more to stores in Vernworth.
