Bloodlines 2 Cancels Shadows & Silk DLC
DLC Playable Clans Added to Base Game

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 publisher Paradox has announced the cancellation of its day-one paid DLC, with its exclusive playable vampire clans instead being added to the base game. The move follows widespread outrage after the company revealed a few weeks ago that two of the game’s six classes would be locked behind a launch-day paywall.
The $22 Shadows & Silk DLC was originally planned to contain the Toreador and Lasombra vampire clans as well as eight outfits, but its unveiling was immediately met with overwhelmingly negative feedback as gamers saw the playable classes as fundamental to the core experience and unworthy of an additional payment amounting to nearly half of the base game’s price.

As pushback continued, the developers shared that they were listening to feedback and were making plans to rectify the situation. "We are listening to you about the Lasombra and Toreador clan access, and we’re making adjustments to reflect this," a tweet from the game’s official account read.
Weeks later, they would announce that they would be issuing refunds for PlayStation Store pre-orders and that the promised adjustments wouldn’t be revealed until September 17. While some were hopeful that Paradox would roll Shadows & Silk back entirely, others were concerned that they would simply add more content to the DLC to inflate its perceived value.
Thankfully, the publisher has decided to do away with the derided DLC and include its paywalled classes in the main game. "Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition," executive producer Marco Behrmann said in the Steam Community announcement. "That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing."
New DLCs Revealed

Apart from Shadows & Silk’s cancellation, Paradox has also revealed that multiple story expansions are in the works. These will be available to players with the expansion pass included in the game’s premium edition. Additionally, players who purchase the deluxe and premium editions of the game will also receive the Santa Monica Memories cosmetic pack.
The first expansion, Loose Cannon, will feature Brujah Sheriff Benny’s story, while the second, The Flower & The Flame, will explore Toreador Primogen Ysabella’s. Both will include a cosmetic outfit for protagonist Phyre. The two are set to release in Q2 and Q3 2026, respectively.
