Producer Advises Players to Prevent Further Circulation of Leaked Content

With less than a week until the release of Black Myth: Wukong, leaked content has began spreading online. The trending hashtag "Black Myth Wukong Leak" reportedly gained traction on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, on Wednesday after videos showing unreleased game content were posted online.

Following the leak, producer Feng Ji took to Weibo to address fans and the spoilers. In his post (translated via machine translation), Feng explained that spoilers can put a damper on the thrilling sense of discovery and role-playing that the game offers. Black Myth Wukong's charm relies on players' "curiosity," the producer added.

Feng also called on players to avoid ruining this element of surprise for others, saying that fans must take the initiative to avoid watching and sharing the leaked content. "If a friend around you clearly says that he doesn't want to be spoiled about the game, please help protect them." He added, "I am still confident that no matter how much leaked content you have seen in advance, [Black Myth: Wukong] will still deliver on the unique experiences it has in store."

The game is now available for pre-order and is set to launch on August 20, 2024, at 10 AM UTC+8 on PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, and WeGame.
