Year 1 Post-Launch Roadmap
Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) has been out for over a month, and developer Ubisoft looks to continue to improve the game with their upcoming updates. Ubisoft revealed on Twitter (X) on May 1 their year 1 post-launch roadmap featuring new story and gameplay content.
Most notably, AC Shadows will have new Story Drops, which are multiple free content additions to the game. According to Ubisoft, "These new free quests will introduce new player abilities, new allies, new world activities, and provide deeper looks and backstories for some of your favorite characters, each new piece of content expanding on the main game."
Additionally, the developers would like to remind fans of their upcoming first expansion, The Claws of Awaji, coming later this year. This DLC update introduces players to the island of Awaji, a brand-new region for fans to explore after the epilogue of the base game. There will be new enemies, new abilities for both protagonists, and an exclusive new weapon for Naoe.

Regular Content Updates
Beyond the new story drops and upcoming expansion DLC, the developers also plan to hold regular updates to improve the overall quality of AC Shadows. Ubisoft emphasized the importance of community feedback, which is why they will bring fan-requested updates to the game.
To start, they will be optimizing their Parkour mechanics, adding new parkour interactions, and updating animations. These include the addition of "height-gaining back-ejects, fully re-animated height-gaining side-ejects, and a brand-new parkour move called the Vertical Ledge Jump."
Meanwhile, its Photo mode will also see some improvements with new filters and stickers, new character poses and facial expressions, and ambient music for players to enjoy. Other updates include new difficulty settings, codex updates, special collaborations, New Game+ mode, and more.
AC Shadows will keep fans coming back for more with their regular updates and big events, highlighting the beauty and history of Feudal Japan.
