Anno 117: Pax Romana will be free to play from February 26 to March 2 across PC and consoles. A new live-action trailer also teases upcoming Year 1 DLC features. Here’s what players can expect.
Anno 117: Pax Romana Offers Limited-Time Access
Starts February 26, Ends March 2

Anno 117: Pax Romana is getting a limited-time free access period from February 26 to March 2, Ubisoft announced through its official website on February 24. The announcement also confirmed Twitch Drops and introduced a new live-action trailer teasing Year 1 Pass content.
The free period will apply to the Ubisoft Connect, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Once the event begins, players can download the title and explore its city-building systems throughout the four-day window.
Two new Twitch Drops were also introduced and will go live on February 26 at 9:00 AM PST and run until March 12 at 9:00 AM PST. Players who link their Ubisoft and Twitch accounts and watch any Anno 117: Pax Romana livestream with Drops can earn two customizable player logos. The Callinectes Logo unlocks after watching for an hour, while the Venusian Shell Logo unlocks after watching for two hours. Players must claim the earned Drops through their Twitch Inventory before the rewards appear in-game.
"Live Action Teaser: Tavern Gossip" Hints Year 1 DLC

Ubisoft also released a live action teaser titled "Tavern Gossip." The video is set in a tavern in Latium, where a group of characters exchange rumors and speculations about what this year’s DLC could bring to the empire.
Through their conversation, the trailer references several upcoming additions. The characters reference a vast new island and concerns about building near an active volcano, suggesting environmental hazards such as eruptions. They also mention appeasing Vulcan, hinting at a new deity arriving in the first DLC pack. In the game, players assign a god to each island, and worship increases the production of certain goods or grants other bonuses across the island, depending on which deity is selected.

The gossip continues with talk of a massive new monument said to bring "unparalleled prestige," followed by excited speculation about a Hippodrome featuring chariot races and gambling. Monuments in Anno 117: Pax Romana are multi-stage projects unique to each island that require major resource investment and grant gameplay benefits once completed.
The characters also speak of settling "our very own province—the river delta of Aegyptus," along with concerns about floods and new trade routes. Expansion to new islands is a core part of the game, where players oversee city development, logistics, and trade networks between islands. Their conversation references "new cultures" to Romanise, additional deities, and "new ways of fighting," with the return of the Romanisation feature—which determines whether provinces adopt Roman customs or preserve local cultures—also referenced as part of the upcoming DLC plans.
The first DLC pack is expected to release in April 2026. The Year 1 Pass is included in the Gold Edition or available as a separate purchase.
