Capcom unveils news and updates coming to Capcom titles and more at Tokyo Game Show 2023. Read on to find out what's coming in huge titles and other announcements.
Capcom Online Program Streamed at TGS 2023
Updates on Capcom Games
The Capcom Online Program announced the latest news about Dragon Dogma 2, Ace Attorney: Trilogy, Resident Evil 4. Exoprimal, Street Fighter 6. The program also showcased gameplay clips for the featured games, DLC, additional features like new locations and maps, collaboration skins, and new platforms. Additionally Capcom Town is introduced as a community site where you can play nostalgic games.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 headlines Capcom Online Special Program. The narrative-driven action RPG has yet to announce any plans for its release date. However, the Tokyo Game Show Capcom booth will have a playable version of the game during the event.
The special program showcased Dragon’s Dogma 2’s gameplay, combat, characters, classes, plot, and location. Currently, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways
Separate Ways is a recently-released DLC that tells the story of Ada Wong’s journey for survival. It runs in parallel to the main story of Leon Kennedy’s search for the president’s daughter. Ada is tasked with a mission by Albert Wesker and it seems an unknown threat has overtaken her body.
The DLC aims to bring more action-oriented gameplay that makes use of Ada’s grappling gun and tactical style. Piece together the full scope of the story in Separate Ways.
Mercenaries Free Update
Mercenaries is a free arcade-style mode and is free for anyone who owns the main game. Along with Separate Ways, it had recently launched on Sept 21, 2023.
RE4 VR Mode DLC in Development
It was announced that RE4 VR Mode for VR mode for PSVR2 is in development and is planned to be released this Winter 2023. The VR mode will contain immersive 3D audio and intuitive controls unique to the Sense Controller. They prioritized having comfortable controls that don't hinder gameplay immersion.
RE4 Coming to Mac
Resident Evil 4 was also announced to be coming to Macs and iPads. The game aims to bring the realistic graphics and excellent gameplay of Resident Evil 4 to Apple users. The game can be played on machines that have an M1 chip or higher. The Mac and iPad version of Resident Evil 4, along with Mercenary Mode and Separate Ways, is slated for release in late 2023.
Ace Attorney
The Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Trilogy
A trailer showed Apollo Justice’s legal journey throughout the years. In its 2024 trilogy collection, powerful prosecutors will stand in Apollo Justice’s way. This trilogy will be fully remastered, adding new languages, a unique story, previously DLC-only episodes, and more puzzles to solve.
It will also have new costumes and museum features, where players can listen to music and watch performances by the chibi Ace Attorney characters. Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Trilogy will come to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25, 2024.
Monster Hunter Now
A teaser was revealed during Capcom’s announcements for Monster Hunter Now, hinting at a new monster and new weapons to come in the game’s next major update this December. More monsters and weapons were also promised to come in updates down the line. This led up to the announcement of the franchise’s 20th-anniversary celebrations, with more details to be revealed at a later date.

Exoprimal
Updates in Title Update 2
Exoprimal will bring in its Title Update 2, which includes a new map called Ocean Platform. This map features a lot of verticality and was originally built near Bikitoa. The trailer notes it would be best to use "Exosuits" suited to the terrain.
Not only that, there is also a new final mission called "Escape," which differs from other final missions. Escape is a 10-player co-op mission made up of 2 phases. In the preliminary phase, players need to battle against hordes of dinosaurs to secure areas in the map. Then in the final phase, players need to escape device spawns. Once the players get to escape the device, they will be able to complete the mission. It is good to note that the escape device is only open for a length of time.
There are also additional rigs available. Drones and Edge Strike fires a blade, lets you teleport and closes the distance for a swift attack to your enemies. Aside from additional rigs, Exoprimal will have a collaboration with Street Fighter 6. Players can now enjoy Ryu, Guile and Chun-Li exosuit skins for a limited time. It is slated to release on October 18, 2023 with Season 2 beginning on the same date.
Street Fighter 6
Character Update: A.K.I, Ed, and Gouki
New Characters will be added in the Street Fighter 6 roster. A.K.I., who utilizes poisonous projectiles and claw attacks, joins the fight on September 27. Ed will have a comeback and join the fray in the winter. After that, Gouki will be joining the roster in Spring 2024. Additional content will follow while adding new characters in the game.
World Tour Mode and New Location
Street Fighter 6 will feature a new location called "Tian Hong Yuan" coming to "World Tour."
Legend Rank
Starting Nov 1, 2023, a rank called "Legend" will be added in Master League Phase 2, being higher than the Master rank. The Legend will be a special rank given to the top 500 players within the Master League.
Street Fighter 6 Halloween Fighting Pass
A Halloween Fighting Pass will be available starting October as part of a collaboration with Meiji.
Street Fighter League
Street Fighter League is open to all participants, regardless if they are pro or amateur. This league is a worldwide tournament for Capcom Cup. There will only be 9 teams, with the top ranked ones going head to head in the World Cup. The prize pool for this league is $1 Million.
Additional Announcements
TGS2023 Capcom Steam Sale
Capcom titles will be on sale for a limited time. In tandem with the TGS 2023 announcements, Capcom has launched a TGS2023 Sale on Steam. There will be up to 80% off for titles like Dragon Dogma and Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. Resident Evil 4 will also be on sale.
Capcom Town and Capcom ID
Capcom also announced its community site, Capcom Town where players can play nostalgic classic games for free. It was created to commemorate Capcom’s 40th anniversary. Aside from that, Capcom ID may be required to play and use online functions for games like Exoprimal and Street Fighter 6.
