⚫︎ Creative and Game Director, Yura Zhdanovich, shared the influences of REPLACED in an interview with Epic Games such as the Australian film Upgrade, which was where the idea of an AI taking control of a human body came from.

REPLACED is a narrative-based 2.5D action platformer releasing on April 14, 2026, for Steam, GOG, Epic, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The game is the debut title by the indie developer, Sad Cat Studios, and was originally slated for a March 12, 2026, release.
Set in an alternate 1980s USA once embroiled in nuclear catastrophe, players will step into the role of the AI, R.E.A.C.H., trapped in a human body against its will. Entering Phoenix-City, it must find its creators, Phoenix Corporation, to uncover the purpose behind its creation and expose the corporation’s wrongdoings.
REPLACED is a 2.5D pixel art platformer set in the backdrop of a cold, dystopic city, with combat mechanics and explorable areas.
