Max Payne 1 and 2 Overview

Max Payne 1 and 2 is a singular title containing remakes of Rockstar Games and Remedy Entertainment’s Max Payne (2001) and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003). The two-in-one package is currently under production using the Northlight Engine, the same engine used to create Quantum Break, Control, and Alan Wake 2.
The neo-noir franchise follows the eponymous Max Payne, a detective with a knack for unraveling widespread conspiracies. Max Payne 1 and 2 has been confirmed for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Max Payne 1 and 2 Gameplay

Max Payne 1 and 2 is a neo-noir action-adventure driven largely by narrative. The original games feature frantic, high-stakes action hallmarked by the iconic “Bullet Time” mechanics that allow players to dodge enemy fire and fire off precise shots by slowing down time while airborne.
Despite Bullet Time’s cinematic presentation, Max Payne’s combat is grounded. Max is realistically fragile, so success is largely dependent on smart decision-making, good timing, and proper utilization of the franchise’s typically small spaces.
