Dying Light: The Beast Overview
Dying Light: The Beast is a single-player standalone zombie adventure game and is the third installment of the Dying Light franchise. While it was first planned as a DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the developer and publisher of the game, Techland, decided to turn it into a full game instead due to its scope. The game is set in Castor Woods, a rural settlement filled with small towns and natural landmarks, which is a stark opposite to the usual urban setting that the series is known for.
Dying Light: The Beast Gameplay
The game is an open-world action adventure RPG that has an emphasis on using parkour and driving mechanics to traverse the environment. Additionally, the game functions with a day-night cycle where players will have to either be stealthy or ready to run during the latter, as the enemies are more dangerous. Dying Light: The Beast also has crafting involved in its progression, where you can gather resources and upgrade gear. Lastly, the game is also built on fast-paced and brutal melee and ranged combat, where players can retrofit an array of weaponry from their gathered resources.
