Dave The Diver Overview
Dave the Diver is a 2023 casual single-player adventure-RPG with management elements where players step into the diving flippers of the titular Dave, who treks deep into the sea to catch fish for his friend’s sushi business while also discovering the long-hidden secrets of the mysterious Blue Hole.
In the game, Dave goes on daily adventures into the depths of the Blue Hole, catching fish and various creatures for his friend Bancho’s sushi restaurant, as well as exploring the ocean’s mysterious secrets. When evening comes, he then becomes one of the sushi shop’s employees, serving customers delectable dishes and drinks. However, there’s more to the Blue Hole than just a ton of fish…join Dave and his quirky cast of friends for a fun marine adventure!

Dave The Diver Gameplay
Dave the Diver’s gameplay revolves around catching fish and sea creatures while also exploring the depths of the Blue Hole by day, and managing a sushi restaurant by night. Dave is equipped with harpoons, guns, and nets, used for deep-sea fishing or combat with the larger boss creatures. While exploring, Dave can help people out by fulfilling their requests, either catching a certain type of fish, or collecting little trinkets like shells scattered about. There are also idle farms to take care of, providing the restaurant with rice and other herbs and spices.
The sushi restaurant, Bancho Sushi, opens during the nighttime, and Dave is employed as one of its waiters. Players will control him as he serves up sushi dishes, refills the wasabi, pour drinks, collect payments, or clean up dishes through an array of mini-games.

Dave the Diver opened to glowing reviews on its launch, receiving a score of 90 along with a Must-Play badge on Metacritic as well as other high scores on several game news websites. Our writer at Game8 scored the marine-centric title an 84/100, citing its great synergy between exploration and restaurant management as well as its astounding visuals. IGN gave the wholesome aquatic adventure RPG a 9/10, calling it wonderfully complex and hard to put down. Game Rant also gave Dave the Diver a high score of 4/5 for its "heart, good music, and a cast of characters that feel right at home around the Blue Hole."
