⚫︎ A new trademark for CONTROL Resonant
was discovered, strongly suggesting Remedy Entertainment is preparing an announcement related to the Control franchise, possibly a reveal at The Game Awards.
⚫︎ Control 2 will be self-published by Remedy Entertainment, as revealed in a recent Capital Markets Day webcast hosted by the game studio.
Control 2 Overview
Control 2 is the upcoming sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s 2019 hit third-person shooter, Control. The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The original Control was a commercial and critical success, being nominated for and winning multiple awards, including Best Art Direction at the Game Awards and the Critics’ Choice Award at the Golden Joystick Awards. It also became the studio’s fastest-growing IP since Max Payne in 2013.
Control also renewed fan interest in Remedy’s other IPs, officially establishing the Remedy Connected Universe. The game featured the first in-universe crossover via the AWE expansion. The crossover continued as multiple references to and characters from Control were present in Alan Wake 2.

Control 2 Gameplay
The original Control is a third-person shooter with light RPG mechanics centered around upgrading protagonist Jesse Faden’s telekinetic abilities and her Service Weapon, the latter of which players can build in various ways.
Few details have been revealed about Control 2 overall, but the developers have confirmed that the game will be going further in the direction of being a full-fledged ARPG.
