Battlefield: REDSEC is the free-to-play battle royale component and spin-off of Battlefield 6, officially released on October 28, 2025, which coincided with the launch of the main game's first season. The game's title is a contraction of "Redacted Sector," and its primary setting is a large, all-new map reportedly based in California, U.S.
As with most battle royale titles, it accommodates up to 100 players fighting for survival, where the main objective is to be the last person or squad standing as the playable area rapidly shrinks due to a deadly, instantly lethal closing zone, often referred to as the "RedSec."
Compared to other battle royale games, REDSEC will include Battlefield’s signature focus on massive vehicular combat, as well as a strong emphasis on environmental destruction which players can leverage for strategic advantage, a feature notably absent in many competing titles.
