Arknights: Endfield Overview
Arknights: Endfield is a spin-off of the mobile gacha game Arknights, a tower defense title where players deploy characters, known as Operators, to defend strategic points on a map. However, Arknights: Endfield takes a different approach as an open-world action RPG with extensive base-building features—a significant departure from its predecessor. It is currently being developed by Mountain Contour, a subsidiary of Hypergryph Network Technology (Hypergryph Co., Ltd.), and will be published by GRYPHLINE.
Though set in the same universe, Arknights: Endfield introduces a new setting, Talos-II, a hostile, largely uninhabitable planet reminiscent of Arknights' Terra. Players assume the role of the Endministrator, leading exploration and settlement efforts for Endfield Industries.
The global development of the game was first announced in March 2022 with the release of a teaser trailer and initial posts on its social media accounts. Early gameplay and CG trailers were also shared, but its YouTube and X pages went quiet for over a year after. Updates have since resumed, with the game becoming more active at their various social media pages and YouTube, confirming a PlayStation release, appearing at conventions, and conducting playtests.

Arknights: Endfield Gameplay
Unlike its tower defense predecessor, Arknights: Endfield is a real-time action RPG with significant base-building and management elements. Players explore a vast open world, battling endemic monsters and hostile militias while surveying the land for resources, establishing outposts, and managing bases.
The game stands out among peers that use the standard character-swapping formula popular in mobile games by allowing your entire party of up to four characters to simultaneously participate in the field. It offers higher action density with more tactical control options, such as seamless character swapping and precision skill aiming.
Additionally, Arknights: Endfield features a robust base-building system integral to exploration and resource management. Players can construct facilities like refineries, relay towers, and zip lines to automate resource processing and enhance map traversal, with a tech tree unlocking advanced structures to optimize layouts and boost efficiency.
Arknights: Endfield Characters
Endministrator
Arknights: Endfield’s protagonist and Endfield Industries’ trump card, the Endministrator serves as a key figure within the new Protocol Field Recovery Department. They personally lead exploration efforts on Talos-II, establishing outposts, managing resources, and responding to emergencies. However, outside the organization, little is known about them among the various factions on Talos-II, adding an air of mystery to their persona.
Perlica
Perlica is a key character in Arknights: Endfield and serves as the supervisor of Endfield Industries. She is responsible for managing and directing the organization’s numerous operations. Her role in reorganizing the Protocol Field Recovery Department after a disastrous conflict that caused significant casualties was crucial to its revival.
