Towerborne is an upcoming action-adventure RPG from the creators of the award-winning Banner Saga Trilogy. Read on to learn how it plays, what it’s about, and everything else we know so far.
Towerborne Story

Towerborne tells the story of The Belfry, a powerful bastion of safety amidst the ruins of humanity and The City of Numbers. As monsters lurk just beyond The Belfry’s walls, powerful spirit-borne heroes known as Aces rise to defend humanity. These Aces wield other spirits and ancient relics as weapons, hunting monsters in packs and striking down any threats to humanity’s last hope for rebuilding civilization. Only time will tell if the Aces will be enough.
Towerborne Gameplay

Towerborne is a 2.5D sidescrolling beat-em-up, where each character, called an Ace, can target enemies in real-time, similar to arcade-style games like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. The game features minor roguelike elements, where each Ace is expected to return to The Belfry by nightfall to regain resources, secure artifacts, reforge gear, and plan their next excursion. Additionally, there will be a detailed character creator for those who want to customize their Ace's appearance.
Players will be able to choose from one of four classes: the defensive Sentinel, the heavy-hitting Pyroclast, the fast-striking Rockbreaker, or the agile Shadowstriker. A selection of playable weapons is also available, including warclubs, gauntlets, dual-swords, and sword & shield, to name a few. In addition to the player’s Ace, spiritual companions called Umbra can also be brought along for support.
