Welcome back New Kid! A powerful blizzard has just struck South Park which can only mean one thing—no school! As you hang out with Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny, you quickly discover that there may be more to this blizzard than just causing the cancellation of classes. It’s up to you and your friends to save the town from an endless winter.
South Park: Snow Day! Gameplay
South Park: Snow Day! ditches the turn-based combat formula of its past two successful PC games, and now plays more like a 3rd-person action game. Instead of the 2.5D art style we’re accustomed to when playing South Park games, Snow Day uses a 3D art style, so the game may not feel like you’re part of a South Park movie anymore given how the characters look more in-depth than they would in the show.
Take on different factions of other kids, or team up with up to 3 other friends online. Customize the New Kid’s looks with iconic South Park cosmetics, which most are in reference to something in the show. Play for Cartman, The Grand Wizard’s faction, or Kyle’s Elvish Kingdom.
From the gameplay footage shown in the trailer, there will also be a variety of play styles to choose from, with some using large melee weapons and spinning around while others have a magic wand that fires orange energy beams at people. The gameplay structure features rogue-lite features wherein matches are called runs, and you’ll start each run with just your base equipment. You’ll get to pick between 3 upgrades occasionally throughout your run, which will change or upgrade how your abilities and attacks work. You’ll also get to choose a "Bullshit ability," which are really powerful abilities that you could only use a few times in a run.
