Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE Gameplay
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE will feature dynamic action-RPG combat featuring powerful skills, attacks, dodges, and parries that evolves to the player’s choice of weapons and skill combos that go "beyond simple hack-and-slash". Battle styles can be customized to the player’s liking, with a total of eight different job advancements to achieve.
In order to maximize Sung Jinwoo's combat prowess on the battlefield, Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE will implement several systems, such as the Monach Transformation system where Jinwoo can awaken as the Monarch of Shadows (presumably for a limited time), the Overdrive system which employs a different skill trees with different unique specialized abilities to use, and the Chain Smash system that maximizes the synergy between skills the more it gets used.
On the field in solo gameplay, defeat monsters on the field and acquire precious materials from them to craft weapons for more firepower. Many of the weapons from the original webtoon such as the Demon King’s Daggers and Kasaka’s Venom Fang will make their appearance in the game as well. Aside from solo combat, players will be able to engage in 4-player cooperative raids, defeating the mighty Commanders as a team.
There will also be a customization system for both Sung Jinwoo and his fellow Hunters, allowing players to mix and match hairstyles, colors, and even accessories to reflect their own personal style and taste.
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE Story Plot
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is set to follow the original plot of the webtoon, where E-Class Hunter Sung Jinwoo turns from a barely surviving weakling to the inheritor of the Shadow Monarch, an immortal necromancer who commands the underworld and its monsters. As the only Monarch who is on the side of humanity, he is constantly targeted by other Monarchs, seeing him as a threat to their plans for human annihilation.
