Silver Palace Gameplay

Face Down Powerful Foes

Performing Parries and Perfect Dodges

Combat in Silver Palace emphasizes timing and precision, with a parry and dodge system that rewards well-timed blocks. Players can also choose to evade powerful attacks to slow down the battle momentarily and create an opportunity to strike.

Enemy Stun Gauges

Image

Enemies come with Stun gauges, which can be located right underneath their HP bar. Attacking enemies will stun them and render them vulnerable to an Execution, a powerful finisher move that also grants a significant damage boost to your party and charges up Silverdrip segments.

Silverdrip Segments and the Ambush Skill

Image

Similar to other open-world action gacha RPGs like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, players can instantly switch between party members in real-time and make use of a combination of normal attacks, skills, and ultimate abilities against their opponents. The diverse roster of characters means that players will be able to take advantage of an equally large variety of skills that can shine in different scenarios and rotations. Filling up teams with characters of the same element will unlock Resonance effects—elemental attacks that deal massive AoE damage.

To further exploit team synergies, the game introduces players to an additional stacking mechanic that rewards these quick swaps known as Silverdrip. Dealing damage will gradually fill up the Reactor and the Silverdrip segments, which are represented by the little triangles surrounding the Reactor situated in between the HP and Skill bars. One segment is equivalent to one stack that will allow players to execute a powerful Ambush skill the moment they swap to another character. Executing an Ambush attack will also trigger the character’s Catalyst attribute. These are special effects that can deal elemental damage, apply extra buffs, bolster shields, or provide healing.

Catalysts and Resonance Effects

Image
Catalysts are items that can be equipped to each playable character’s Reactor to grant them either damage or support buffs. Each character can hold up to three Catalysts, which players can freely select depending on their needs or preferred playstyle.

Every Catalyst has its own attribute that can be triggered by using up one Silverdrip segment or unleashing an Ambush attack.

Character Classes, Building, and Progression

Characters are categorized into different classes, namely Hero, Guardian, Outlaw, Victim, Saviour, and Witness. It is likely that classes represent different playstyles, but in-game descriptions appear to be limited to character archetypes, according to the information available in the Monotype Beta Test. Their exact utility in battle is yet to be determined.

The character progression system follows the same template commonly found in popular action RPG gacha games. Players will need to farm the necessary materials from enemies to level up characters and unlock additional combat skills and talents.

Similar to Lightcones from Honkai Star Rail, Motives act as weapons with their own rarity, stats, and passive effects. Equipping characters with Motives will maximize their potential.

Each Motive can be upgraded with in-game materials and further improved using extra copies of the same Motive. They can be obtained from regular or premium in-game currency, gacha pulls, story progression, or other quests and events.

Play as Silvernia’s Best Detective

Investigate

Silver Palace also has an extensive investigation system wherein players can examine buildings, bulletin boards, and non-playable characters (NPCs) to obtain information that may be pertinent to quests. There will also be forensic examination, where the Detective will harvest crucial evidence from the scene of the crime by searching for clues in their vicinity and examining dead bodies. Similar to the Ace Attorney series, players can freely rotate and study certain objects to find clues that might easily be missed.

In story mode, players may also be prompted to interrogate or observe the appearance of key characters in cases, allowing them to deduce crucial information about these characters during quests.

When investigating NPCs strolling about in the overworld, there will be times where some enemies may disguise themselves as civilians. If there are any undercover enemies in the vicinity, the "Danger Radar" will light up depending on the player’s proximity to these enemies. Examining these disguised beings and exposing them will initiate combat.

Stealth and Interrogations

Stealth appears to be a significant aspect of Silver Palace. Players can approach situations with discretion to incapacitate enemies quickly or employ different interrogation tactics, using force or speech to gather information.

One notable mechanic involves the use of a syringe containing a potent anesthetic that can knock out targets. This syringe appears to be a usable item, and selecting that option results in the loss of one unit per use.

Piece Together Clues

Image
As players progress further in their investigations, they will be granted opportunities to reflect on the information they have collected. They can simulate incidents in various crimes within the Detective’s Mindpalace. They can also use an Evidence Board found in the Detective’s office to make sense of evidence by actively sifting through information and constructing hypotheses that will bring them closer to solving cases.

Explore Silvernia

Like Neverness to Everness, Ananta, and Wangyue, players can make use of various traversal methods to quickly go about the game's world. There’s an option to use mounts, such as flying celestial horses.

Players can also make use of grappling hooks to zipline across different areas and Ascender/Descent Devices to reach higher or lower areas more efficiently.

Silver Palace Story Plot

Set in the "Golden Age of Detectives"

Image

Silver Palace is set in the industrialized metropolis of Silvernia, a city where magic and machinery coexist. Here, players take on the role of a Detective who returns to Silvernia after three years of absence in order to investigate the death of their sibling. They will later be tasked with unraveling a case dubbed "The Nameless Ashes Case" which describes a series of spontaneous combustions that have left dozens burned to death. Players, as the Detective, will soon find themselves embroiled in danger, conspiracies, and political power struggles.

As the story progresses, players will also come to know the Detective’s past, the details surrounding the death of their sibling, the assassination of the late Queen, and the truths lying in wait for them.

The Detective will also meet valuable companions along the way, such as Ashley, an intelligent young woman who enlists the help of the Detective to solve a case for her; and the clumsy yet earnest Alf, a member of the Maid Institute, Society, and Services (MISS) who joins the Detective as an assistant.

Silvernia on the Cusp of a New Era

Image

Silver Palace’s plot begins in Silvernia, whose rapid development can be traced back to the discovery of Silvernium, an element that revolutionized technology and transformed everyday life. Its discovery triggered a wave of innovation that drew people from all walks of life into the city.

Under centralized administration, the industrial exploitation of Silverium propelled Silvernia into prominence as a hub of invention and opportunity. However, this progress also sowed the seeds of unrest, as the pursuit of Silverium’s power led to various factions vying for control over the said resource. These factions include corporate powerhouses, underground crime syndicates, royal affiliates, and cultists, each with their own agenda and secrets.
