Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door follows Mario and friends as they discover the mysteries of the titular Thousand-Year Door. Mario will travel through the Mushroom Kingdom and meet several colorful characters, seven of whom will become your party members.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Gameplay
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a role-playing game with non-traditional elements like platforming in terms of exploration and traversal around the world. The combat system follows a traditional turn-based style similar to older role-playing games at the time. The game plays with the 2D character in a 3D world concept and has interactive elements that are designed to look like they’re made of paper. There also seem to be several nontraditional RPG features within the battle system.
