La Divina Commedia Gameplay

La Divina Commedia is an action-adventure hack-and-slash RPG with roguelite elements found in each level. Players will have to slay hordes of demons guarding each circle, using a variety of weapons with a matching diversity of abilities and mechanics to cater to different playstyles and strategies. Players are also free to forge and customize weapons and armor according to their liking.
The game also has a choice-based storyline, factoring in an alignment system represented by the Seven Deadly Sins. Depending on an individual player’s choices, they will be granted path-specific abilities and even story events. The conclusion of the game will also depend on their choices.
La Divina Commedia Story Plot

La Divina Commedia reimagines the Nine Circles of Hell from Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, the Divine Comedy, and takes it a step further by posing the question: what if Alighieri’s text ushered in a new "spiritual renaissance" that overwrote the teachings of the dominant religion of the time? However, this renaissance is cut short, as dark forces have overtaken the world, plunging everything into chaos and corruption.
In all the discord, a warrior-poet is lured into Hell, only to be trapped inside. The only hope for escape can be found somewhere in its very depths, down the Nine Circles of Hell and past the demons and spirits residing in them. Players must brave each level and survive constant peril, but Hell’s inhabitants aren’t the only threats players need to face; the warrior-poet also has a story of sin and suffering that must be confronted.
Players’ choices will also matter in this game, and eventually, they will have to decide whether to restore the world order of the past, or allow it to sink further into depravity.
