Endless Legend 2 Gameplay
A Dynamic and Evolving World
Set in an oceanic world, Endless Legend 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor by being a turn-based strategy game based on city and empire-building. Control large armies as you sweep across the land, befriending or conquering minor and major factions that stand in your way, and uncover the secrets that the world holds.
The main draw of Endless Legend 2 is the dynamic and evolving world as a result of the receding seas. As the game progresses, the oceans will get smaller, revealing new areas of the map to explore, expand, and exploit. The new lands may uncover a new path for your armies to take or a land bridge to another island. The choice falls on the player on how quickly they want to expand to these new areas or fortify their existing positions.
Unique Factions and Stories
The factions are varied both in playstyle and appearance. There have been four revealed factions.
First is the Kin of Sheredyn, who are descendants of the expedition of an interstellar empire. They are a balanced faction based on fortifying their positions with their technology and engineering, and formations.
Next are the Aspects, a coral-machine-like faction that seeks harmony with nature. Instead of claiming territory normally, they spread through a planted coral that covers the map with their influence, allowing their cities to grow.
Third is the Necrophage, an insectoid hive with the queen as its center. Following this theme, the Necrophage only has one city, but can spread through tunnels and funnel all of the resources into the capital.
Last are the Last Lords. They are unique in how they do not consume food, but instead use dust– the game’s equivalent of gold, to increase their population. They also tax minor factions for dust, and in battle, they can leech the life of their attackers, making them extremely tough.
Finally, there are the heroes and the quests available for the players to use. These heroes can grow throughout the game through a skill tree and items. Quests, in the meantime, pop up from time to time within the game, and seem like they serve to forward the plot of the game from the perspective of the faction you are using.
Endless Legend 2 Story Plot
In Endless Legend 2, stories emerge from the decisions made by the player. They can choose to be a conqueror, a ruler over others with an iron fist. They can choose to be a more benevolent diplomat, letting major and minor factions coexist with each other in harmony. Or, they can choose to be an insatiable beast with a bloodlust not seen in centuries. No matter what path the player chooses, the oceanic planet of Saiadha is the player’s blank canvas in starting their endless legend.
