Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Overview
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is the sequel to the first Moonlighter game, which was originally released back in May 2018. Like its predecessor, Moonlighter 2 is an action-adventure RPG with roguelike elements. This sequel is meant to expand on every aspect that made Moonlighter a hit with fans, starting with its departure from its 2D pixelated aesthetic to its new 3D isometric visuals and controls, introducing platforming on top of improved features to the familiar Moonlighter ARPG and roguelite gameplay loop.
Moonlighter 2 will feature an improved relic system, more difficult dungeons, and more complex quests. In addition, the shopkeeping mechanic will enjoy a massive improvement with the introduction of shop expansion and interior design.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will be releasing sometime in 2026 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While no specific date has been revealed at the moment, it is now available for Early Access on PC via Steam .

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Gameplay
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault follows in the footsteps of the first Moonlighter game with a similar premise. The sequel takes Will, the series’ protagonist, from Rynoka and into a new village named Tresna. As Will, players will have to start from scratch in this unfamiliar location, setting up shop with valuable items obtained from dungeons and working to bring prosperity to the village.
The roguelike elements of the first Moonlighter will return with a vengeance in this sequel; dungeons will prove to be more challenging, with a dynamic difficulty setting that ramps up each time players progress further in a dungeon.
The world of Moonlighter will also see a significant expansion, with the game now allowing Will to properly interact with NPCs and take on side quests with a variety of objectives.
