Duet Night Abyss Story Plot
Duet Night Abyss takes place in the fantastical land of Altasia, where crystal trees, dubbed the Heaventrees, bore crystal fruit known as Phoxene. The Heaventrees and their fruits were worshiped by a massive religious country called the Elysian Church over countless centuries, whereas their alchemists continuously studied the Phoxene to discover the incredible Phoxichor Technology. Phoxene were harvested in tandem with the Charon, an ancient species with an innate magic potential, yet still humanoid.
The Charon, however, had Daimons among their ranks. Charons who grow up and develop special ‘demonic’ prowess are regarded as dangerous and said to bring misfortune and destruction.
Across the several millennia of Altasia’s history, several countries would establish their existence, with the biggest and most influential ones being the Elysian Church and the Hyperborean Empire. The Empire, being a country born out of war, sought to annex smaller countries until it was able to compare against the Elysian Church.
Where do you fit in all of this? You are a Phoxhunter who lives on an island teetering on the border between the Elysian Church and the Hyperborean Empire. One day, you dream of a repetitive dream, starring a person who eerily resembles you, but the exact opposite. You wake up, and you must embark on your perilous journey as you’re caught between the crossfire of the Elysian Church and the Hyperborean Empire.
Duet Night Abyss Gameplay
Duet Night Abyss will be a 3rd person action game with heavy inspiration being taken from the Space-Ninjas game Warframe. Characters in the reveal trailer are shown using the basic Warframe movement abilities, such as Bullet Jumping, the twisting fluid motion used to traverse and dodge with grace, as well as slam attacks from high ground. It also has the over-the-shoulder gunplay action with a weapon that looks very similar to a Braton, the most basic primary rifle in Warframe.
The Warframe comparisons don’t stop there, as several of the abilities showcased are almost too on-the-nose when it comes to looking similar to multiple Warframe Skills. Excalibur’s ultimate skill, Exalted Blade, can be shown with the slashes of energy being tossed from sword slashes. Another would be Mesa’s ultimate, Peacemaker, which has the character stand stationary and hose down enemies while striking different poses instantaneously for each hit.
Next would be the summoning of vicious tentacles to entangle and slam foes repeatedly to the ground, a clear homage to Hyrdroid’s ultimate skill Tentacle Swarm. The fairy transformation that’s underwent looks also very similar to Titania’s ultimate skill, Razorwing, which allows her to minimize herself and dart across the battlefield while raining fire. Lastly, there is a character shown that is a striking fusion resemblance of two Warframes, that being Ivara Prime and Yareli, where the jellyfish-like outfit and the water powers provide striking similarities.

The first trailer is the reveal of the game, where it showcases the game’s visuals and gameplay, taking heavy inspiration from Warframe, as many fans are quick to notice and dub it as ‘Waifuframe.’
