Deadzone: Rogue is a fast-paced first-person roguelite where players fight through a starship crawling with mechanical monstrosities. Read on to learn how it plays, what it's about, and everything else we know so far.
Deadzone: Rogue Gameplay

Deadzone: Rogue centers its progression around weapon modification, elemental interaction, and structured meta upgrades. During a run, players acquire augments that alter how weapons function — modifying fire patterns, adding secondary effects, or converting damage types. These changes allow weapons to evolve into specialized tools aligned with a preferred playstyle. Elemental types also factor into combat, as certain enemies respond differently depending on the damage inflicted, encouraging players to adjust their loadout based on sector threats.
Long-term progression is organized through three separate skill trees that define broader playstyle direction, allowing players to invest in survivability, mobility, or offensive specialization.
Deadzone: Rogue Story Plot

Deadzone: Rogue takes place aboard a deep-space vessel that has fallen into collapse following a catastrophic systems failure. The ship is now controlled by rogue artificial intelligence and overrun by biomechanical entities, suggesting a breakdown in both technology and containment. Players are deployed to push through compromised sectors, restore control over critical systems, and uncover what triggered the outbreak.
As progression unfolds through repeated runs and sector advances, environmental storytelling and mission briefings gradually reveal more about the vessel’s purpose and the events that led to its downfall.
