Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Gameplay

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven builds off of the base game’s core roguelike and cult management mechanics by introducing a variety of new content, features, and challenges. These include a new story, dungeons, town, followers, structures, ranching, the Winter weather, and more.
Winter and New Structures

Woolhaven introduced the harsh weather of winter, the biting cold of the blizzards threatening your cult's survival. During winter, players’ followers will freeze if the furnace structure isn’t burning, which needs to be supplied with fuel.
Other than the furnace, making special outfits or meals can help keep followers warm. When a follower does freeze, they can be quickly thawed in the baptismal bath.
Ranching

Crops won’t grow during winter, opening up ranching as the primary method of obtaining food. This new feature lets players breed rare animals that provide precious resources like wool, fur, and meat, as well as being used as mounts for traversing through areas. Ranch animals can be kept as pets by both the player and their followers.
Dungeons and Combat

A new battle realm with two dungeons will also open up: Ewefall and The Rot. The snowy mountain is home to Marchosias, the god-hating wolf and leader of the free pack. This dungeon is being guarded by the wolf hunters in Marchosias’ pack, and houses several of their leader’s experiments to power the mountain.
On the other hand, The Rot is a burning and festering hellscape tucked inside a mountain. Gory creatures driven by madness and suffering inhabit this mysterious dungeon, going so far as to rip themselves just to stop the Lamb.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Story

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven takes place after the main story and will unlock a new location, Woolhaven. Players will first need to defeat the Four Bishops of the Old Faith before they can proceed on to the expansion.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Setting

Set in the freezing mountains of the Lands of the Old Faith, the new DLC expansion takes players to Woolhaven, the ancestral home of the lambs. Once thriving under the rule of Yngya, the giant sheep Goddess of Winter, it has now become a desolate land, rotting underneath the blistering snow.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Plot

Set after the events of the main story, a lost God calls you, the Lamb, from a mysterious mountain. They implore you for help to rebuild the flock and revive winter to discover the truth behind the fallen lambs of the past Woolhaven. Go toe-to-toe with the past in this full-length DLC expansion!
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Characters
The Lamb

The Lamb is the titular protagonist of Cult of the Lamb. Being saved by a god-like stranger known as the One Who Waits, they are tasked with building a cult that worships it and embark on crusades. As a blank slate, their personality and actions are for the players to decide.
Yngya

Yngya is the forgotten ancient God of the lambs. She summons the Lamb to her service and calls them "home" to Woolhaven. There, they must restore the flock and reclaim the lost souls of the lambs scattered across the mountains.
Midas

The dweller of Midas’s Cave. Inspired by the king of Greek myth, he is capable of turning creatures into gold. The bejeweled master of the cave will grant the Lamb a reward if they make a generous "donation" to his collection. It may seem that he meets an untimely demise in Woolhaven.
Marchosias

Marchosias is the leader of the free pack and antagonist in Woolhaven. He and his wolves control the mountain, posing as a challenge to the Lamb’s mission to guide lost souls back to Woolhaven.
Hagar The Executioner

Hagar, also known as The Executioner, is an axe-wielder who executed lambs in service to The Old Faith. She had exiled herself as penance for her sins, and it is up to the Lamb to decide her fate in light of this.
