Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name follows previous protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and his journey of anonymity which follows the events prior to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the seventh installment of the series. The game will adapt the new and improved Dragon Engine since it has been a while since we’ve had a game where Kiryu was playable. The game will also feature most of the series’ minigames like Karaoke, Gambling, and Cabaret Clubs and will most likely be one of the things that will occupy you during your playthrough.

The story follows Kazuma Kiryu, who faked his death and abandoned his name to protect his loved ones from the dangerous enemies he’s made. He dons the codename “Joryu” to find out the mysterious adversary that is attempting to drive him out of hiding.

The gameplay features the classic beat-em-up style that the series has always been known for. Combat will feature two different fighting styles to defeat your opponents. The Yakuza style features his familiar attacks and combos from the past games and the Agent style which utilizes multiple gadgets and tools like drones to distract enemies and electric wires to stun and fling enemies around.
