Pokemon Pokopia Playable at 2026 Pokémon European International Championships

Ditto in human form

Pokémon Pokopia is set to appear at the 2026 Pokémon European International Championships in London, where attendees can try the upcoming life simulation title ahead of its launch. Here’s how fans can experience it firsthand.

Pokémon Pokopia at 2026 EUIC

Playable From February 13 To 15

Ditto meets Charmander

Pokémon Pokopia will be available to play at the 2026 Pokémon European International Championships from February 13 to February 15 at ExCeL London, according to a February 10 post published on Nintendo’s official website.

As of writing, details about the event demo remain limited. It’s not yet known what content will be available, how long each play session will last, or how many demo stations will be set up.

Pokémon Pokopia is scheduled to launch on March 5 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Set in the region of Pokopia, the game places players in the role of a Ditto who takes on a human form and works alongside Professor Tangrowth to restore a once-desolate island.

A Glimpse Into Pokopia

As seen in the extended trailer, Ditto’s transformation ability plays a central role in the game. By learning moves from Pokémon they befriend, players gain access to a range of abilities, such as using Squirtle’s Water Gun to revive dried grass and water crops or growing plants like Bulbasaur to add greenery to barren areas. Some Pokémon also grant special moves that allow Ditto to transform into them, such as becoming Lapras to travel across water or Dragonite to reach distant locations. These abilities are used to rebuild the island, enabling players to construct homes and other buildings, cultivate crops, clear paths, and gradually expand the surrounding areas.

As the town develops, players create habitats that draw in different Pokémon species and work together to fulfill their requests. Over time, the once-withered island transforms into a lively community. The game moves away from the traditional Gym challenge structure and competitive tournaments, offering a more relaxed take on the Pokémon formula.

Pokémon Pokopia will also break tradition for Nintendo-published titles by releasing as a game-key card instead of a standard physical cartridge. Unlike traditional cartridges that contain the full game data, a game-key card does not store the complete software. Instead, it acts as a physical access key, requiring players to download the full game to their system before they can play.

The Pokémon European International Championships are part of the official Pokémon International Championships series, organized through Play! Pokémon. These large-scale tournaments bring together players from around the world to compete across multiple Pokémon game formats, earning prize money and Championship Points that count toward qualification for the season’s Pokémon World Championships.

The 2026 Pokémon European International Championships will take place from February 13 to February 15 at ExCeL London and will feature competitive play across multiple Pokémon titles, including the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE.

In addition to high-level competition, the Championships will feature a variety of fan activities outside the main tournament, including stage panels, cosplay showcases, autograph sessions, trading areas, and themed exhibits. Spectator tickets have sold out, and competitor registration closed on February 8.
