Fate/Samurai Remnant was released worldwide on PC, PS5, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch on September 29, 2023. The Japanese release was available one day ahead of the world on September 28, 2023 for the PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Fate/Samurai Remnant Story Plot
In Fate/Samurai Remnant, players assume the role of Miyamoto Iori, the adopted son and disciple of Miyamoto Musashi, legendary swordsman and philosopher. Under his master's tutelage, Iori studied the Niten Ichiryu Style. Unfortunately, his master passed away before being able to teach him its secrets, only leaving behind the Crimson Codex as a heirloom. It is from this floating, sentient book that Iori learns about "Magecraft."
Iori's basic knowledge of Magecraft eventually allows him to form a contract with a Servant, a physical manifestation of heroes and figures from history. It also drags him into the Holy Grail War, where seven Servants and their Masters must fight to the death to have their desires granted. Together with his Servant, a Saber-class famed for their great performance in any circumstance, Iori joins the battle of swords and magic so as to realize his ambitions.
Fate/Samurai Remnant Gameplay
From the game's trailer, it seems like Fate/Samurai Remnant has gameplay similar to TYPE-MOON's previous ARPGs, Fate/EXTELLA, and Fate/EXTELLA LINK. However, it's much less of a musou game and more of a regular hack-and-slash action game. Additionally, whereas in previous titles, you were only able to play as the series' mighty Servants, it seems in this game, players will be able to switch between controlling their Servant or Iori, the Master himself. The game will also allow you to bring another servant with you to play as.
The enemies that players will encounter range from bandits, monsters to other servants. Servant versus Servant battles, in particular, or rather actual Holy Grail Battles, serve as the game's boss fights. However, unlike what the lore of TYPE-MOON will have you believe, you can beat up servants using your all-too-human Master.
There's also going to be a healthy amount of exploration that you can perform outside of battle. After all, it's just not a TYPE-MOON game without an excess of worldbuilding options.
