Platform PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
Genre Action/Adventure RPG/Hack and slash
Developer Team Ninja
Publisher KOEI TECMO AMERICA

Defeat enemies with a range of swordplay from the Chinese martial arts in the game, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Team Ninja, the studio behind Nioh and Ninja Gaiden.

You should buy this game if you enjoy Souls-like combat, particularly Nioh and Nioh 2! The game looks to have a lot in common with the Nioh series, which is to be expected as it was made by the same dev team: Team Ninja. The game offers a challenging combat system based in Chinese martial arts, character customization, loot system, and unique enemy designs.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Title Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
Release Date March 9, 2023
Platform PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, PC
Genre Survival/Horror
Developer KOEI TECMO AMERICA
Publisher KOEI TECMO AMERICA

Three girls head off to an isolated island called Rogetsu to solve the mystery of their friends’ death, and discover the truth behind their lost memories.

Although the Fatal Frame series has great atmosphere, the controls and combat system are a bit dated so we only recommend this game to fans of the series. If you enjoy an older brand of horror and the slower movement speed doesn't bother you (these factors do elevate the horror at times), we encourage you to give this game a try. That being said, if you are new to the series, it might be hard to get into.

In recent years though, the employees, known as the Sorrows, have run rampant on Earth's surface, throwing off the balance of souls and leaving him buried in mountains of paperwork. Play as one of Death's new recruits as you take down the Sorrows and restore balance.

Buy the game if you want to play a roguelike platformer! Have a Nice Death is a charming yet challenging game and shares a lot in common with titles like Hollow Knight. Enjoy the fluid animations and challenge-based upgrade system it offers!

Title Figment 2: Creed Valley

Platform PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, PC
Genre Indie/Aventure/Puzzle
Developer Naughty Dog
Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment

Do you like creative and experimental games? Then this one is for you. Figment 2: Creed Valley is an action-adventure game with mind-bending puzzles, musical boss fights, adorable character designs, and dynamic environments. The game will have a linear storyline in a musical and surreal universe.

Some of the puzzles are not particularly challenging in the demo, so we're hoping that it will change once the game is fully released.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

Image

Title Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon
Release Date March 17, 2023

Genre Action/Aventure
Developer Platinum Games
Publisher Nintendo

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, a storybook-inspired prequel where you’ll control Cereza before she became known as Bayonetta and the titular Lost Demon Cheshire to save Cereza’s mother.

Although the game is aesthetically pleasing with its fairytale-like visuals, the price for the game ($59.99) might be too expensive for casual players. We only recommend buying this game if you're a diehard fan of the Bayonetta series and its lore.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Image

Title Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Image

Title Resident Evil 4 Remake
Release Date March 24, 2023
Platform PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Genre Survival/Horror
Developer Capcom
Publisher Capcom

Capcom will release a remake for Resident Evil 4, introducing the game with more modern gameplay, reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics.

We highly recommend buying Resident Evil 4 Remake as it is being marketed as a faithful remaster of the game that redefined the series, if not the entire genre. The only reason we can see to not pick this game up is if you're tired of remakes and remasters in general. Even if you feel this way, consider this: a fresh coat of paint may not always justify a remake, but in a horror game, that fresh paint can really serve to elevate the horror elements.

The base game is available via the Playstation Store, Xbox Games Store, and Steam for only $59.99. However, if you want to access the extra DLC Pack, then we suggest you get the Deluxe Edition as it only costs $69.99. The price difference isn't that much, and the extra content will be worth it if you're a fan of the original version!
