Minecraft Trails and Tales Update
Focused on Self-Expression, Creativity, and Intrinsic Motivation
Game Director Agnes Larsson states that the upcoming Minecraft update will prioritize self-expression, creativity, and internal motivation. The update's title reflects the journey that players experience while playing the game and the distinct narratives they create.
As Minecraft promotes individual storytelling through constructing forts, this update encourages players to collaborate and generate more collective narratives.
Trails and Tales Update New Features
Archeology and Sand Digging
In Minecraft's Trails and Tales update, players can explore buried ruins and mysterious structures with valuable and intriguing secrets. These structures are made up of sand blocks that players must carefully extract using a new Brush tool. This tool is specifically designed to remove pottery shards from fragile sand blocks without damaging them.
Each shard is like a puzzle piece, and when players gather four of them and put them together, they repair the pot and reveal a unique image or story painted on the shards. Players must explore and collect all the fragments to uncover the complete story. The use of pottery shards and the Brush tool adds a new level of excitement and discovery to the game, encouraging players to engage with the environment more effectively and creatively.
Sniffers and Cherry Blossom Biomes
Cherry Blossom Biomes is released in Snapshot, a rare set that includes a cherry tree wood set, tree sapling, and pink flower carpet block. This will add that refreshing take on fort building as it adds more diversity in color.
In addition, players can now encounter the new mob called Sniffers, similar to moles. Sniffers were once considered extinct but have made a surprising return to the game after they were discovered by searching for eggs in the new Minecraft feature called suspicious sand.
Once players find and hatch these eggs, they will get a Snifflet that will eventually mature into a Sniffler, which can then be used to sniff out unique seeds that can grow into stunning plants. The Sniffer mob will be fully available in the upcoming 1.2 Update, complete with all the functionalities players have voted for during the Minecraft Live 2022 event.
Armor Trims
In this update, players can now protect themselves and look stylish by crafting their custom-made armor. The process involves finding armor templates, which can be used with a smithing table to create personalized armor. Going on quests to see rare trims is a great way to start a new adventure in Minecraft.
