Solid Snake and Sam Fischer’s Heated Rivalry Comes to Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Siege has officially revealed Metal Gear Solid protagonist Solid Snake as the new, upcoming guest Operator for the game’s Year 11 expansion. Ubisoft announced Snake’s arrival to the game in a livestream outlining the roadmap for Year 11, which includes new maps, balancing updates, and more.
Solid Snake’s reveal trailer is a continuation of the teaser trailer released on January 30, which briefly hinted at an interaction between him and Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fischer. The latest trailer shows Snake infiltrating a rooftop and incapacitating enemy soldiers before meeting with Sam, who greeted him with his iconic "Kept you waiting, huh?" catchphrase. This is also a cheeky nod to their longtime franchise rivalry since fans across social media have expressed a desire to see these two stealth game icons work together.

Snake is voiced in Rainbow Six Siege by his long-time voice actor, David Hayter. He has served as the voice for Solid Snake and his father, Naked Snake/Big Boss, in every mainline Metal Gear Solid game except for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain.
True to the Metal Gear Solid games, Solid Snake plays as a stealthy Operator that excels at locating enemies and planning out his position through his unique "Solitron Radar MkIII" weapon.
Rainbow Six Wants Players to Play “More Siege, More Often”

Solid Snake is arriving in Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 11 expansion, which is focused on getting players to play "more Siege, more often," and bring back more players into the game. . Solid Snake will be part of Year 11, Season 1, which is named "Operation Solid Hunt" and is releasing on March 3, 2026.
Operation Solid Hunt is a Metal Gear Solid focused season, which also includes a limited time 4v4 infiltration event called "[REDACTED] where Snake teams up with Sam Fischer. There will also be a Metal Gear-themed battlepass which offers cosmetics inspired by characters from the games, such as a skin for Smoke inspired by FOXHOUND psychic Psycho Mantis.

Year 11 Season 2 will introduce a new map, "Calypso Casino" as well as a rework for Operator Dokkaebi, keyboard and mouse support for consoles, and placement matches for the new season. Season 3, meanwhile, will introduce another new Operator, a Defender named Firework, while Season 4 brings back the fan-favorite "Grand Larceny" mode.
