Yakuza Kiwami 3’s listing appeared on RGG Studio’s official website, hinting at its upcoming release. Read on to learn more about the rumored Yakuza 3 remake and the events that fans speculate it will be revealed at.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 Seemingly On The Way
Listing Appears on Official Website

Yakuza series developer Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio may have accidentally posted a listing of Yakuza Kiwami 3 on its official website. Multiple users over at Twitter (X) and Reddit have spotted and taken screenshots of its sudden appearance, but RGG has since taken it down.
For context, Kiwami titles are remakes of the original Yakuza games, simply denoted with Kiwami (meaning extreme in Japanese) to differentiate them from the original versions. So far, RGG has released Kiwami 1 in 2016, a remake of Yakuza, and Kiwami 2 in 2017, which is based on Yakuza 2.
The listing can still be searched through Google, but fans will only be directed to a "not found" page on the website. RGG has yet to confirm or announce anything regarding Yakuza Kiwami 3, but fans are speculating that it will be revealed during the upcoming RGG Summit.

While Kiwami 3 is all but confirmed, its existence is very likely, as Like a Dragon series Director Masayoshi Yokoyama previously mentioned that he’ll eventually make it. In an episode of RGG Studio TV in April 2024, Yokoyama stated, "I'll just say that I think I'll do Kiwami 3 at some point. I'm sure I'll do it someday."
Yakuza 3 received a remastered worldwide release in 2019, which included all previously cut content from its Japanese version, such as additional mini-games and substories. It would be interesting to see how much of an upgrade a Kiwami title for the game would be, considering Yakuza 3 was first released in 2009.
Possibly Be Announced at Upcoming Events

Although Kiwami 3 has yet to be confirmed, fans are speculating that it may be announced at upcoming events. The game could be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, happening on September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, where multiple titles and projects from around the world will be showcased.
Another major gaming event where it could be unveiled is the rumored September PlayStation State of Play, where past RGG titles such as Like a Dragon: Ishin were announced. However, the event that everyone has their eyes on is RGG’s annual Summit and RGG Direct, which will happen on September 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM (UTC+8).

During last year’s RGG Summit, the studio announced Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which was released this February. Beyond the rumored Kiwami 3, RGG has a slew of projects on the way, which include the next Virtua Fighter and their newest IP, Stranger Than Heaven.
Both RGG Summit and RGG Direct will be livestreamed at SEGA Asia’s official YouTube channel. Check out the timetable below to find out what time the stream starts in each region:
