The New Server Brings New Systems and a Stronger MMO Focus

Tower of Fantasy has announced a new gacha-free Warp Server launching on November 25, 2025. According to the developers, the server introduces revamped systems and progression mechanics designed to meet player expectations. Arriving with version 5.5, it shifts the game toward a stronger MMO-focused experience.
Tower of Fantasy currently offers players a vast open-world adventure on the sci-fi planet Aida, blending exploration, story-driven missions, and real-time combat with character progression. While it includes shared-world elements and small-team co-op, the experience has remained mostly solo-focused, with limited social and MMO features, something many players have hoped the game would expand on.
What’s New in the Warp Server

The new Warp Server will remove the weapons gacha, allowing players to earn weapons directly by completing missions. Weapon enhancement has also been simplified with the removal of Weapon Ascension and Matrices. Players will no longer need to collect duplicates to fully upgrade a weapon or gather Matrices to fine-tune its stats.
The Warp Server will be separate from the main game, and early rumors say players might transfer or clone characters, though global hasn’t confirmed anything. In China, similar setups run as two separate servers, where characters can be cloned so players can enjoy both gacha and non-gacha versions. Using the same engine and mechanics, the Warp Server will feel like a different take on the game, focusing on non-gacha progression and social features.

The Warp Server will let players collect shards for all released outfits, making cosmetic customization easier. It also introduces a Trade System, which allows players to exchange Simulacrum Shards and appearances, key resources used to unlock or modify characters’ looks. This system may further create a player-driven economy, giving the community more freedom to trade and acquire desired items.
The Warp Server expands Crews, Tower of Fantasy’s guild system, with a new Crew Base — a hub for socializing and trading shards — and Crew GVE Activities to help newer players catch up. It also introduces six Life Classes, such as Cook and Forger, which add casual, non-combat gameplay similar to the crafter and gatherer roles in other MMOs.
A Growing Trend Toward Gacha-Free Systems

Notably, the most significant change is the removal of the weapons gacha as a whole, mirroring a trend in games like Duet Night Abyss and the upcoming Ananta, which are dropping character gacha. Both titles appear to be leaning toward more accessible progression systems, reducing the pressure to rely on random pulls for core upgrades.
The matter remains unclear whether Hotta's decision to launch a separate, gacha-free Warp Server suggests Neverness To Everness, still in development, will adopt a similar approach.
Tower of Fantasy’s Warp Server is set to launch on November 25, 2025. The development team has promised more details and updates in the coming days, so players can look forward to further announcements about the new systems and gameplay improvements.
