The Outer Worlds 2 Released Latest Trailer
Featuring Unique Weapons
The Outer Worlds 2 unveiled a new trailer featuring some of the game’s odd and bizarre (yet effective!) weapons. During the IGN Fall Fan Fest 2025, developer Obsidian Entertainment shared new footage of the game with its latest gameplay trailer.
The 1-minute and 38-second video highlighted The Outer World 2’s quirky variety of unique weapons, which include a two-handed pizza cutter, a giant hammer, a corrosive spray shooter, a wrist-mounted launcher, and more.
Furthermore, it also showcased its action-packed and explosive gameplay, coupled with classy music that captures the game’s sci-fi Americana aesthetic.
Third-Person View Came From Fan Feedback

Aside from the game’s weapons, the trailer also featured its third-person view, which is a fan-requested addition ever since the community wished for it on the first Outer Worlds title. In an interview with Game Informer on October 14, Game Director Brandon Adler stated they were not initially planning to add a third-person option when they started developing the game.
He explained, "We didn't intend to do third-person when we first started the game. We actually didn't start doing it until, really, maybe about two years ago or so."
Additionally, Adler revealed that they have a long list of things fans wanted to add to the game, but weren’t able to implement them all, as it may be "too expensive". However, after careful assessment, they decided to include the third-person view after all, as he said to himself, "I think people are really going to want this."

Due to this, Obsidian collaborated with Disruptive Games, which has assisted in developing and implementing various features on multiple games, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and Diablo II: Resurrected’s multiplayer and porting.
Obsidian Entertainment continues to prove that they are listening to the community and want what’s best for their playerbase. This was also evident in their decision to revert the game’s price to $70 after it was initially announced as $80 due to Xbox’s pricing changes.
The Outer Worlds 2 is set to release on October 29, 2025, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
