Street Fighter 2 Pocky Edition Introduces New Character
Available to Play Until July 31, 2024
Capcom and snack makers Glico introduced the world to the free-to-play browser game, Street Fighter 2 Pocky Edition, as part of both companies' promotional campaign back in 2022. Though playable for generally a limited amount of time, Street Fighter 2 Pocky Edition brings a fresh twist to the classic arcade game.
It relaunched last year in December and will be available to play until July 31, 2024. The game is accessible on web browsers on either PCs or mobile phones.
The general gist of Street Fighter 2 Pocky Edition is fighting, but instead of aiming for a victory via a normal K.O., fighters must execute a "Pocky K.O." that will automatically win them 2 rounds.
This week, Street Fighter 2 Pocky Edition introduced a new playable character named Eiko based on the Japanese comedian Eiko Kano. Eiko's special moveset includes a rose-throwing attack mimicking the Hadouken and his own spinning uppercut called "Eiko Go!", which of course he calls out as he performs them.
Eiko joins Chun-li and Ryu in the humble roster and will be playable until May 27, 2024.
