Silent Hill f Sees a New Difficulty Mode and Changes to New Game +
Silent Hill f is Optionally Easier Now

Silent Hill f sees its first major update today with patch 1.10, which adds a new difficulty mode, "Casual," while also making New Game+ runs less punishing by letting players skip through certain scenes and combat encounters. Casual mode makes combat easier for players, allowing them to overcome the game's horrors much easier while experiencing the story much quicker.
New Game+, meanwhile, lets players skip through certain scenes, puzzles, and combat encounters. The patch notes specifically point to the scene after solving the mural puzzle as one example, where the game will resume at the scene where main character Hinako awakens at the corridor of the Dark Shrine if skipped, among other encounters

These changes are perfect for players who have complained about the game’s frustrating combat and boss fights, especially towards the end of the game. Casual mode now lets players dive into Silent Hill f’s critically acclaimed story and atmosphere without wanting or being able to play through the game’s combat encounters.
The streamlined New Game+ experience is also a godsend for players, especially completionists and diehard fans, who want to experience the game’s multiple endings without going through the game’s entire length.
It is important to note, though, that while the skip feature does not affect branching paths or endings though. items and achievements unlocked during certain scenes will not be available on playthroughs that use the skip feature.
Hinako Can Move a Little Better Now

In addition to these changes, Silent Hill f's recent patch also gives Hinako slightly faster stamina regeneration, allowing her to dodge and attack a little more efficiently. Furthermore, there are now fewer unskippable combat encounters and fewer enemies across the game, making the overall experience less punishing across all difficulties.
There are also some bug fixes, specifically for some enemy encounters not progressing when they're meant to and inputs not registering. Minor fixes have also been added to the autosave feature and lighting as well.
Silent Hill f is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Read our article on it below:
