Akuma is Coming to Street Fighter 6

Akuma Releases on May 22, 2024

During this year's Evo Japan, Akuma's gameplay was showcased just before the Evo Japan Street Fighter 6 grand finals. Set to debut on May 22, 2024, the trailer provides a sneak peek into his move-set, including his Satsui no Hado, and showcases his new design featuring white hair and a beard, with a half-naked upper body.

According to the YouTube description, players who own the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or the Year 1 Character Pass and Ultimate Pass for Street Fighter 6 will gain immediate access to Akuma upon his release. Additionally, alongside Akuma's arrival, a major balance patch will be implemented, bringing changes to all characters. While the price of Akuma has yet to be disclosed, we'll keep you informed with any updates as they become available.

Capcom Cup 11 will be Held in Japan

Additionally, in a recent announcement from Capcom eSports, it was revealed on their official Twitter (X) account that CAPCOM CUP 11, a prestigious annual Street Fighter tournament with a substantial $1 million prize pool, will be hosted in Japan at Ryogoku Kokugikan. This indoor venue, created in 1909, holds significant cultural importance as a renowned location for sumo wrestling, Japan's national sport, and regularly hosts events such as the Tokyo Grand Sumo Tournament three times a year, along with concerts and other gatherings.

With a capacity of over 10,000 visitors, this marks the first time ever that CAPCOM CUP will be held in Japan, despite the game being developed by Capcom, a Japanese company. In addition to this, the first official Street Fighter 2 tournament was held in this venue as well. Notably, the previous location for CAPCOM CUP 10 was in Los Angeles, California.
