Rhythm Heaven’s New, Current-Gen Groove
Rhythm Heaven Groove has received a release date of July 2, 2026, after Nintendo released a surprise announcement on their social media channels. It is currently available for pre-order on Nintendo’s website for $39.99.
The game is the first entry in the Rhythm Heaven (known as Rhythm Paradise in European regions) franchise since 2015’s Rhythm Heaven: Megamix on the Nintendo 3DS. While the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 through backwards compatibility, nothing has been revealed yet about an enhanced Switch 2 edition.
Nintendo is Finally Cooking Again with Rhythm Heaven
Nintendo announced the game’s final release date alongside a short trailer of a new gameplay segment called "Slice N Dice Kitchen." The trailer shows off a cooking-based rhythm mini-game to an entirely new song.
Rhythm Heaven Groove, which was first announced in a Nintendo Direct on March 27, 2025, has been met with fervent anticipation from fans of the series who have been anticipating a new game for over a decade.
The release of Rhythm Heaven Groove also marks another dormant Nintendo IP receiving a new release on the Nintendo Switch within this year, coming alongside the upcoming Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Yoshi: The Mysterious Book. Market analysts have speculated that this signals the beginning of a sunsetting period for the original Switch to focus more resources on the Nintendo Switch 2.
