Reverse 1999 and Atomic Heart Collaboration Announcement
Coming Later This 2026
Reverse 1999 developer Bluepoch Games revealed its collaboration with Mundfish’s action-adventure narrative FPS, Atomic Heart. The announcement came during the Mystery Box Carnival Special Program on January 10, 2026, along with an overview of the 3.2 version update.
According to the developers, the crossover will feature a story chapter in the world of Atomic Heart, right before the calamity that set off the events of the game. No other details, like new units or garments (skins), were revealed in the teaser.
However, judging from the previous Assassin’s Creed collab event last August 7, 2025, it is very likely that characters from Atomic Heart will be playable units, much like the release of Ezio, Kassandra, and Alexios.

In the upcoming story chapter, Reverse 1999 characters Vertin, X, and Mesmer Jr. will attend a science summit showcasing new scientific breakthroughs in the alternate Soviet Union: Polymer and the Kollektiv 2.0 neural network.
Atomic Heart players will likely be familiar with these two terms. Polymer is a metallic liquid that became the backbone of all technology in the world, while Kollektiv 2.0 is an upgraded artificial intelligence network to control robots all at once.

The rollout of the Kollektiv 2.0 neural network would descend into chaos, as robots begin slaughtering the human personnel in Facility 3826. This catastrophe would kick off the events of Atomic Heart.
With Vertin’s companions being intellects, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to have them interact with characters who would be present in the science summit, like Dr. Dmitry Sechenov, the inventor of the Kollektiv 2.0 and polymer.
Lucy Skin Speculation

Reverse 1999 players noticed that a previously released character, Lucy, shares an uncanny resemblance to the Twins, Left and Right, from Atomic Heart. Not only is she an android with a grey metallic body, but she also has no distinct human facial features (when she’s not wearing one of her masks) and wears a jacket on top like Right does.
Some Reverse 1999 fans on Reddit even commented that they mistakenly thought Lucy was already a character from a previous Atomic Heart collab when they started playing the game. It wasn't until Vereinsamt, the seventh main chapter of the game, that they realized she was an original character.

Sharing so many design elements with them, fans believe it’s very likely that a Lucy garment inspired by the Twins would come out during the crossover event.
While no details were given about the release of garments during this collaboration, four characters received one each during the Reverse 1999 x Assassin’s Creed event last year (APPLe, Marcus, Hissabeth, and Vila).

With the collab announcement wrapped up, the developers would go on to say that they hope fans are also looking forward to the upcoming version update 3.2, "A Flowing Feast" on January 20, 2026.
The update is set to release two six-star characters (Beryl and Brume), euphoria buffs, 1900s French-inspired garments, a free unowned six-star Standard Character from up to Version 3.0, and many more.
Reverse 1999 x Atomic Heart’s collaboration will launch sometime this 2026. Bluepoch Games promised more details about the collaboration to be gradually revealed in future special program livestreams of the narrative turn-based RPG.
