Resident Evil Requiem Features a Playable Leon Kennedy
The Iconic Raccoon City Police Officer Returns
Revealed in a new trailer during The Game Awards 2025, Resident Evil Requiem showcases the return of the iconic Leon S. Kennedy as an additional protagonist. He joins Grace Ashcroft in the investigation to reveal the truth of the infamous 1998 Raccoon City Incident.
Additionally, it was also revealed that Leon Kennedy will have an action-focused gameplay contrasting Grace's survival horror focus. It brings back a similar style to the Resident Evil 4 remake, with over-the-shoulder camera, finishers, and even his trademark roundhouse kick. There was also a specific moment in the trailer where it shows that this time you can take revenge on the chainsaw wielding zombies and give them a taste of their own motorized saws.
A Legendary Ride For a Legendary Character: Porsche x Resident Evil
One surprising collaboration also came as Leon's car of choice, as he will be riding in a custom Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. The world-renowned car manufacturer teams up with the legendary hero to have a ride of a lifetime.

For Nintendo Switch 2 players, a new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller will also be available for purchase on the game's launch day. The controller will come with exclusive in-game designs and styled in gunmetal black.
Resident Evil 9 will be released on February 27, 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
