Remedy Shared New Details on Control Spin-Off
Condor Will Be "Service-Based Fixed Price" Game
As per reports from Video Game Chronicles, "Condor," the spin-off of Control situated in the Alan Wake universe, is allocated a budget of approximately €25 million ($27.1 million). It is being developed using Remedy's in-house Northlight engine which was also used in Alan Wake 2. The game is currently in the pre-production phase and is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
Remedy also confirmed that Condor will not be a free-to-play game, but will be a "service-based fixed price" game. They explain that "These are premium games that may have a lower initial price point but a long tail of revenue through updates, game expansions, and potentially microtransactions."
In its financial report, Remedy provided insights into the gameplay and narrative of the upcoming game. Condor will revolve around the aftermath of the Hiss Invasion, with the Oldest House now in lockdown. Within this volatile environment lie potent supernatural forces, and the remnants of the Federal Bureau of Control are tasked with restoring order.
The report emphasizes that the franchise "is larger than one story, or one character," and invites players to embark on a "collective journey into the depths of the Oldest House."
