Remedy Trademarks New Game

FBC: Firebreak

As first reported by RespawnFirst, Remedy Entertainment has filed their latest IP registered for trademark as "FBC: Firebreak." The trademark was just recently filed on January 8, 2024, and listed as a variety of "goods and services." The supposed game is not just listed as a "computer gaming software," but most notably has also been filed as clothing such as "Hooded sweatshirts," or even "audio, video, and multimedia production."

This information could suggest that this could be a massive project in the works.

Possible Hints at Control Sequel

Although there are no further details regarding the trademark, speculations have been made that this could be a potential sequel to Remedy’s 2019 game "Control."

The story of the third-person action-adventure centers on Jesse, a US government agent who deals with the paranormal, and her personal quest to find the truth about what exactly happened to her brother.

The name of this trademark may give away that it is a sequel or DLC to Control. The acronym for the trademark is the same as the agency she works for, FBC which in the game, stands for Federal Bureau of Control. The trademark "Firebreak" could also be a reference to the game. In Control, firebreaks are mysterious chasms found in the Oldest House, a place where the laws of reality do not apply.

In the game, the firebreaks serve to prevent the spread of catastrophic paranormal events all over the Oldest House.
