Resident Evil 7 Playable Through Touch Controls of External Controllers!
Development Team Put Significant Time in Optimizing Controls
With the news of Resident Evil 7 biohazard (RE7) coming to iOS devices, the developers reveal in CAPCOM’s first "CAPCOM NEXT" presentation that gamers will be able to connect external controllers to play the title!
The original developers of RE7 and the port highlighted that they took meticulous steps in order to deliver a worthy and smoothly playable port for mobile devices, and therefore worked hard to optimize the graphics and touch controls. They felt like something was still missing, and therefore challenged themselves to implement an ‘Auto Fire’ feature that automatically fires a weapon when aiming at enemies.
However, even with all of that, they still felt controllers would be the best way to play the game, and therefore made it so players can use external controllers such as the PS5’s dualsense controller, or even rudimentary controllers that attach to the phone be seamlessly usable for the port!
Other quality-of-life additions that just make sense for mobile devices is making the screen menus, such as the inventory, all touch screen compatible!
