Pokémon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Demo

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will have a playable demo at the Pokémon World Championships 2025, taking place from August 15 to 17 in Anaheim, California. Nintendo announced on its official website that registered attendees of the said event will have the opportunity to try out their upcoming Pokémon title.
The demo event description reads, "Experience the new real-time battling system in a series of Trainer battles that take place during the after hours of Lumiose City, chase Zygarde through the streets of Lumiose City, and team up with Lucario to take on Rogue Mega Absol in an epic, action-packed showdown!"

It was also previously announced by Pokémon UK that the demo will be available at Gamescom 2025, which will happen on August 20 to 24, 2025, in Cologne, Germany. It is currently unclear what the demo will showcase, or whether it will also be available on the Nintendo eShop, considering Nintendo has been inconsistent about having demos for their Pokémon games.
Some titles’ demos, such as Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, were available at the Nintendo eShop before their releases, and even offered players exclusive rewards that can be transferred to the main game.

Meanwhile, their previous games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, did not have publicly released demos during the lead-up to their release. However, it will now have demos available at the upcoming event. Most fans speculated that it was to avoid datamining leaks, while some were skeptical about the quality of those games in the first place, which is still a point of contention in the community.
Regardless, fans who will attend the Pokémon World Championships 2025 will be treated to a preview of an all-new Pokémon game, but there are still a few steps they must take to get their hands on Nintendo’s latest monster-catching adventure.
Warp Pipe Pass Registration

Attendees of the Pokémon World Championships 2025 will need to register for a Warp Pipe Pass to play the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Demo. Registration for the pass is free, and fans will just need a Nintendo Account to participate.
The Warp Pipe Pass registration begins on August 11, 2025, 9:00 AM PDT to August 14, 2025, 11:59 PM PDT, or until slots last. It will be available on the official events website, where fans can reserve the time they will be playing the game at the booth. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and even if all reservation times are booked, Warp Pipe Passes may be available if there are cancellations.

Once registered, fans will receive a confirmation email and will view their pass on the event website. Those who receive the pass are advised to arrive at Nintendo’s booth 15 minutes before their scheduled time, as those who miss their time slot will not be guaranteed to try out the game.
