Pokémon GO Content Creator FleeceKing Account Hacked

FleeceKing Was Hacked Due To Reporting Hacker

FleeceKing, a prominent figure in the Pokémon GO community and the first player to reach level 50 in the game, recently took to Twitter (X) to report that his Pokémon GO account had been hacked. He reposted a video showing the intrusion by Twitter (X) user @MasterWarlord01. FleeceKing expressed his dismay, stating that he had not shared his account details with anyone and "doesn’t know how this happened."

The 20-second video posted by @MasterWarlord01 captures the hacker accessing FleeceKing's Pokémon GO account, and proceeding to search for his Shiny Mareep. Subsequently, the hacker transfers the Pokémon to Professor Willow, effectively deleting it from his storage, as Pokémon cannot be retrieved after being transferred.

In response to inquiries in the comments, the hacker clarified that he did not "technically" hack FleeceKing's "Gmail or Niantic server." He justified his actions by claiming that FleeceKing had reported him and wanted to prove a point about FleeceKing being favored by Niantic calling him the "golden child."

While he did not specify the exact number, he admitted to transferring "ALOT" of Pokémon. Additionally, he posted another video, lasting two minutes, showcasing the transfer of more of FleeceKing's Pokémon, including a Shiny Snorlax and Dialga Origin form.

Niantic Successfully Recovers Account but Community Seems Divided

The incident sparked widespread concern within the Pokémon GO community, causing FleeceKing to trend on Twitter (X) for a period. However, the situation was eventually resolved, with FleeceKing confirming that he regained access to his account after "24 hours." He credited Niantic for assisting in the account recovery process, although he was unable to divulge specific details.

While many expressed relief that Niantic assisted FleeceKing, there were also numerous replies questioning whether such support would be extended to an average Pokémon GO player, as many of the responses highlight concerns about potential disparities in assistance based on one's prominence within the community.

@HSMorph remarked, "So regular Joes don't get that kind of help, am I wrong?" Similarly, @christianrost3 commented, "You only achieved this through your reach. Anyone else wouldn't have gotten their account. You don't get it and you basically keep making the same mistakes and don't learn anything from them."

@vict680 shared a similar sentiment, "I'm glad for FleeceKing... but the same guy stole my friend's account and Niantic said there was nothing they could do. There are low-profile people who still need help."
