The Pokémon Company just released the Soda Pop Plush collection in Western shores. Read on to find out where to get your own plush!

Pokémon Soda Pop Plush Line Is Here

Kanto Starter Plush Available for $19.99, More Coming to Collection

The Pokémon Company International recently came out with their new line of Soda Pop plush toys, which were once exclusive to Japan. The collection debuts in the Pokémon Center with the beloved Kanto starter trio Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, boasting retro-inspired designs that just tickle one’s nostalgia of playing the earlier days of Pokémon while also appealing to the younger generation of Trainers with their cute aesthetics.

These plushies were designed in collaboration with Japanese illustrator and graphic designer F*Kaori. First released in Japan last 2018 as the Saiko Soda campaign, it was only available for a very limited time and in equally limited quantity. Luckily, these adorable plush versions are now available in the West for global Pokémon fans to enjoy.

Cindy Ruppenthal, senior director of the Pokémon Center and e-commerce at The Pokémon Company International, said that "There is significant interest from Pokémon fans for unique, collectible merchandise originating in Japan, and the Pokémon Soda Pop Plush line is one of those special collections which resonates with fans around the world."

Pokémon fans in the United States, Canada, and the U.K. can now order their own Kanto starter plush from the Pokémon Center website for $19.99 USD, $25.99 CAD, or £16.99. But if you’re not too enticed by the Kanto starters, don’t fret! New additions to the collection are coming soon.

Pokémon, Everyone’s Childhood

Long-time fans of the Pokémon series may find this Western release endearing, like a wave of nostalgia and reminiscing. Pokémon found itself in the hearts of many back in 1996, where it all started with Pokémon Red and Green. The game of catching, training, and trading 151 creatures known as Pocket Monsters (Pokémon for short) became such a hit with people of all ages that it even led to the creation of the anime a year later in 1997. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Its popularity shines even until present time, where younger Trainers come and love Pokémon as much as the older generations did. New generations of both Trainers and Pokémon grow every passing year, and love for the series grows as well.

So yes, heal your inner child or make the day of another, and get yourself one of the Kanto starter plushies now!
