New Episodes Already in Production
The production of new episodes of the Netflix series Pokémon Concierge is underway, as announced by Pokémon on Twitter (X) today. In a rather succinct tweet, the company shared, "Exciting news, Trainers! New episodes of Pokémon Concierge are in production! Stay tuned for updates! 🏖"
Pokémon Concierge is a stop-motion* anime that follows Haru, a concierge starting out at the Pokémon Resort—a peaceful getaway for Pokémon to relax and have fun. She aspires to provide the best, relaxing vacation for the mons as she learns how to tackle her own life and settle in her own skin.
The series premiered in December 2023 on Netflix and currently has 4 episodes in its 1st season. It is a collaboration between The Pokémon Company, Netflix Animations, and Dwarf Studio, featuring bite-sized episodes that run for 20 minutes.
As defined by Adobe, stop motion animation* is an advanced flipbook-style form of animation. It involves photographing and then physically manipulating objects within your frame.
Pokémon did not provide any additional details on the new episodes aside from confirming that more cozy adventures will come to Netflix. The show currently boasts 3.9 stars on Letterboxd and is directed by short film director Iku Ogawa, starring Karen Fukuhara, who appears in the tv series The Boys.
Along with the voice of Major Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Josh Keaton, the actress behind Dana—Imani Hakim—in the MMORPG-inspired comedy series, Mythic Quest, is part of the stellar cast. Pokémon that have taken center stage in the show, so far, include Psyduck, Magikarp, and Pikachu.
