Persona 4 Revival was officially unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Read on for more details about the remake, including an update from P4 Creative Producer Kazuhisa Wada.

Persona 4 Revival Teaser Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Persona 4 Remake is Available to Wishlist Now on Xbox Store, PSN, and PC

During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Atlus officially revealed Persona 4 Revival, a full remake of the beloved JRPG, now confirmed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, PlayStation 5, and Steam. A teaser trailer accompanied the announcement, offering fans a first look at the updated visuals and reimagined environments of Inaba.

The trailer features early development footage, blending brief gameplay segments with cinematic shots that highlight familiar locations from the original game. Fans can spot iconic areas such as the Samegawa Flood Plain, a classroom from Yasogami High School, and the central shopping district—all presented with dramatically enhanced graphics.

One striking sequence shows a stack of old televisions forming the portal to the Midnight Channel, a core element of the game’s supernatural mystery. Among the TVs, glimpses of the Dojima residence and a shadowy, unidentified figure flash across the screens before they all turn an ominous shade of red, marked by haunting circular patterns.

The trailer concludes with a brief appearance by the game's protagonist—canonically known as Yu Narukami—seen running through the shrine and shopping district, followed by the return of the iconic Midnight Channel transition and the official title reveal.

Persona 4 Revival is now available to wishlist and is slated for release on all announced platforms. No release date has been confirmed as of yet.

P-Studio to Reveal More P4R Info "In Due Time"

Following the official reveal of Persona 4 Revival at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Atlus' official Twitter account shared a statement from P-STUDIO Director Kazuhisa Wada regarding the beloved series and what lies ahead.

In the message, Wada expressed excitement about the remake and noted that Atlus looks forward to sharing more details about the game " in due time."

Wada reflected on Persona 4's legacy, highlighting its impact over the years, including two anime adaptations and several spin-off games such as the Persona 4 Arena fighting series, Arena Ultimax, and the rhythm title Dancing All Night. He emphasized that the game " holds a special place in" his heart, and assured fans that the team is developing Persona 4 Revival with " passion and love."

He also teased that the remake will be a " fresh and surprising" experience for both newcomers and longtime fans of the series. Additionally, Wada hinted at what’s next for the franchise, mentioning preparations for the "future development of the Persona series" —a statement that may signal progress on the much-anticipated Persona 6.

Wada closed his message by thanking fans for their continued support and encouraging them to stay tuned for more updates.

Xbox confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will be a full remake of the classic RPG. However, it remains uncertain whether the remake will be based on the original Persona 4 released in 2008 for the PlayStation 2, or Persona 4 Golden, the expanded version released in 2012 for the PlayStation Vita and later ported to modern platforms in 2020.

Atlus has not yet clarified which version will serve as the foundation for the remake. The ambiguity has sparked discussion among fans, especially following the recent handling of Persona 3 Reload. That title, which launched in early 2024, remade the original Persona 3 but did not include the expanded content from Persona 3 FES at launch and seperated it as DLC called Episode Aigis.

Whether Persona 4 Revival will follow a similar path—launching with the core content alongside quality-of-life improvements and new additions, with Golden elements added later as downloadable content—remains to be seen. Atlus has yet to confirm its full content roadmap, leaving fans eager to learn how closely the remake will mirror the expanded features and storylines introduced in Golden.
