PEAK developers are shifting to a slower pace as they head into 2026. Read on to learn more about the game’s future plans and its latest holiday update.
PEAK Future Plans and Holiday Update
Development Shifting To A Slower Pace

PEAK, the viral co-op climbing game, will slow down the frequency of its patches and updates for 2026. In a Steam blog post on December 17, co-creators Aggro Crab and Landfall gave fans an insight into what’s next with the hit multiplayer.
Since its release in June 2025, PEAK has topped the gaming charts and has been beloved by the community. Along with this virality comes the challenge of constantly improving and updating the game, which the developers have admittedly struggled with.
Thus, the team has decided to slow down with their updates for next year, but promised to have more content coming. "We have a couple of cool things in the works for 2026, but we do want to be transparent with the fact that the frequency of patches and updates will be slower," they said.

Another reason for the change is that the developers have other responsibilities to attend to aside from their joint venture. The development team for PEAK is Landcrab, a collaboration group composed of members from Aggro Crab and Landfall. Given that both studios have other projects separately, it became difficult for them to support the game with such a small team.
"Doing frequent updates with a team of just a few people takes it's [its] toll, we've been running on pure adrenaline and hype for the last couple of months, and both Aggro Crab and Landfall also have two separate studios to keep running alongside Landcrab! So keep an eye out on both studios for new projects too ;)," Landcrab stated.
Winter Update Goes Live

Before taking their well-deserved break, Landcrab has dropped PEAK’s Winter update, bringing the festivities to the game. Patch 1.50 brings the holiday cheer with new Christmas-themed content.
The new update transforms the airport lobby into something more festive, while some biomes will be covered in snow. In these areas, players can find snowy mounds and create snowballs, perfect for ragebaiting their friends.
Aside from this holiday content, the Winter update also added new items to the Steam Points shop, which include animated stickers, avatar profile frames, backgrounds, and a special loading screen for Steam Deck. Additionally, several bug fixes have been implemented geared towards resolving game-breaking issues.

Landcrab initially didn’t plan to support the game with huge updates post-launch, but with the game’s overwhelming success –which includes its Best Multiplayer Game nomination at The Game Awards 2025, the joint venture nevertheless looks to have more in store for fans in the future.
PEAK is available on PC via Steam. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
